This directory contains a set of test tools and test plans for implementations
of the DICOM display consistency services.

The tools have been developed on behalf of the "Integrating the Healthcare
Enterprise" (IHE) and comprise an integral part of the IHE MESA toolkit.
The test cases apply to all actors of the Consistent Presentation of Images
(CPI) integration profile from the IHE Radiology Technical Framework.

An introduction to these test tools can be found in the article "DICOM image
display consistency: a test environment". A preprint of this article is
available online, in the file "introduction.pdf".

Please note that these tools have been out of maintenance since 2004.
While they are still fully operational (to the best of our knowledge),
there might be known but unfixed errors in some of the test cases.
For example, the result image in test case TEAN_P01 shows a text annotation
as centered, whereas the corresponding presentation state specifies
that the text should be rendered left-aligned.
